The history of the French Speaking Bethesda Baptist Church.
In 2019, during a conversation with Pastor Joseph Victor about my desire to start a church, he shared that he also wanted to plant a church in Laurelton, Queens, New York. We decided to work together to make this vision a reality. On September 25, 2019 with 15 people we began by holding a prayer meeting at the home of brother Arnoux and Dr. Danielle Gustama, with the primary goal of establishing a church in that community. From that day on, we met every Thursday at 7pm for prayer.
In March 2020, we rented a space to launch our first worship service. However, due the COVID-19 pandemic. All public gatherings were suspended, et we couldn’t proceed as planned. In April 2020, we resumed meeting online for prayer and Bible study, and this continued for quite some time. You can still join us every Monday now for online prayer and Bible study by calling (339) 207-9718.
On the last Sunday of May 2023, we officially launched as a church and celebrated our grand opening at French Speaking Baptist Church of Nassau since we didn’t yet have a facility large enough to accommodate everyone. Our first worship service was held on June 4, 2023, since, we have been meeting every Sunday from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Our mission is built on three core pillars: preaching the Word of God, worship, and prayer. Our church is officially named French-Speaking Bethesda Baptist Church and became incorporated in Nassau County in January 2024.

Although we do not yet own a property, we are diligently working toward that goal. For a time, we worshiped a 2079 Grand Avenue in Baldwin, Long Island. Unfortunately, in January 2025, a fire destroyed that location. We are currently meeting at 2394 Grand Avenue while we trust God to provide a permanent place of worship. Please keep us in your prayers as we move forward in faith.
